I am by no means joking when I say I have the best news that you will hear all year. I’m being 100% truthful in my statement but only a small percentage of people will actually read this article and take it to heart. Everyone else will laugh it off as a fallacy but nonetheless, it’s the honest truth.
Every single one of us has been given a gift. Whether it’s the gift of eloquent writing, confidence to speak on a stage in front of people, gift of a singing voice, a gift of an above average IQ, ability to catch onto mathematics quickly, to understand and memorize instantly, or even just having the gift of compassion.
The list is endless. But the majority of people aren’t allowing their gift to the world to shine through.
We stop because we are afraid of being ridiculed. We are afraid of failure. We are afraid of success and that we will lose the people that surround us. We are afraid to take a chance because we don’t know what could happen (or not happen).
Fear is what stops us from doing or achieving anything. It’s what stops us from putting our gifts out to the world because we want to be accepted by everyone – whether you believe it or not. It’s been taught to us at a very young age and cemented in our minds.
But the news that I have for you is beautiful. It’s something that you may already have heard but you didn’t listen to what it actually means.
We hear things on a daily basis but how many of you have taken the time to actually listen. Well guess what, now’s the time to put aside any hogwash excuse you have and pay attention.
When you go after what you really want in life, you will fail. You will fail hard. The failure will seem gigantic. You will also see success in small increments. Understand that they will put you leaps ahead of any kind of failure. Those small increments of success add up to something beyond your wildest imagination.
The thing is, you won’t give yourself credit for these successes. You will brush them off like it’s nothing and what you’re doing is sabotaging yourself. It’s an epidemic that causes the most brilliant people to live a mediocre existence.Failure is inevitable which is why celebrating your successes is vital. Click To Tweet
If you want to live a mediocre life without experiencing life to its fullest, that’s your choice.
This message is intended for the misfits who don’t believe in mediocrity. There will be times when you want to give up. You will cry, scream, feel tons of anger, wonder why the world isn’t on your side, and wonder why people refuse to support you – even your own family or closest friends.
We all go through it. We’ve all been there. What separates us from the others is that we don’t give up. We don’t give up when it seems impossible. We don’t give up when you feel like you’ve fallen down a hole with no way of getting out.
We carry on because we understand that it is our gifts that will change the world around us.
To the people who can’t support you; send them your love & appreciation because they are expressing their love the only way that they can. They are uncomfortable because you’re challenging the status quo.
No need to feel upset with their actions but you also have the choice to set [and enforce] boundaries.
It’s your journey, not theirs. You’re the only one that has to live with your choices.
When you look back 20 years from now you will either thank yourself for answering the call or be left with the echoes of what could have been if you would have simply listened to yourself and took action.
If you’re already pursuing your passion and profitable with that, congratulations. Keep pushing on.
But if you’ve been waiting for someone to give you permission to live a life that is beautifully handcrafted by your design, I give you that permission.
I want you to know that you aren’t alone. But don’t even think about comparing your current situation to anyone else’s. Some will progress faster than you and that’s okay.
Celebrate their success with them as they will celebrate your success with you. Love everyone, no matter where they are on their journey. Understand there’s no such thing as competition, just collaboration.
Challenge the status quo every single day. Push beyond your limiting beliefs. Celebrate failure. Celebrate success.
Most importantly, don’t forget to love yourself & your journey.
